- Build your order on the live menu, submit it under your name, and we'll set it aside. You pay at the counter when you pick up — not online.
- Church Street is a pedestrian block, so there's no parking at the door. The Marketplace and College Street garages are about a block away.
- Bring a government-issued photo ID showing you're 21+. You'll show it at the counter every time — order-ahead or not.
- The price on the menu is the final price — all tax is already included, so there are no surprise add-ons at the counter.
Ordering ahead is the fastest way to shop Float On: you pick everything out before you leave home, and the trip itself is just an ID check and a handoff. It's handy when you already know what you want, when you're squeezing the stop into a walk down the Marketplace, or when you'd simply rather not browse. Here's exactly how it works from the menu to the counter.
What does "order ahead" actually mean at Float On?
It means you reserve your items in advance rather than prepay for them. You build an order on our live menu, send it in under your name, and the team pulls and bags those items so they're ready when you arrive. There's no online payment for cannabis — you settle up at the counter at pickup, same as a walk-in. Think of it as putting your order on hold, not checking out.
How do I place an order-ahead pickup?
The whole thing takes a minute or two:
- Open the live menu and browse by category — flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, and the rest, with the Vermont grower named on each item.
- Add what you want to your bag and choose pickup at the Church Street shop.
- Submit the order with your name and a contact number. You'll get a confirmation — that's your reservation.
- Come in the same day while the menu is current, head to the counter, and give your name. Show your ID, pay, and you're done.
Menus move, especially on small-batch Vermont craft lots, so it's best to come the day you order. If something sold through between your order and your visit, the budtender will sort out a swap at the counter — no harm done.
Where do I park near Church Street?
This is the one thing worth planning, because Church Street is a pedestrian Marketplace — the block in front of us is closed to cars, so you can't pull up at the door. The good news is parking is close:
- Marketplace Garage and the College Street Garage are each about a block from the shop — the most direct options for a quick pickup.
- On-street metered spots ring the downtown core if you'd rather park curbside and walk in.
- Coming by bus? GMT routes stop at the Downtown Transit Center on St. Paul Street, a short walk away.
From any of them it's a flat, easy walk onto the bricks. Look for the yellow door at 136½ Church Street. For a fuller rundown of getting here, see our downtown Burlington page.
What happens at the counter when I pick up?
Quick and routine. You'll show a government-issued photo ID proving you're 21 or older — a driver's license, passport, or state ID all work — every visit, even though you ordered ahead. The budtender confirms your order, you pay at the counter, and your items leave in a sealed bag. If you want to add something you spotted on the way in, that's fine too; just ask.

Order ahead or walk in — which is better?
Both get you the same shelf; it's about how you like to shop:
- Order ahead if you know what you want and want the shortest possible stop — reserve it, walk in, show ID, go.
- Walk in if you'd rather see the shelf, ask questions, and let a budtender help you choose. There's no rush and no upsell.
A few Vermont rules to keep in mind
However you pick it up, the same Vermont basics apply. It's adult-use for 21+, so keep your ID on you. Public consumption isn't permitted anywhere in Vermont — not on Church Street, the waterfront, or in a parked car — so your purchase is for private use at home. And it can't legally cross state lines, even into a neighboring state. Keep it sealed for the trip, and away from kids and pets.
